Today I have my first midterm exam for L&I SCI 150 - Intro:Info Resrc-Internet, which is pretty much a big joke. Basically what we are learning is how to use search engines such as google, yahoo, altavista, teoma, etc. to search the internet. I think any 8 year old with an elementary 3rd grade education could do this. Anyway enough of my rant. I have a ton of other things I need to get done today before I have Rebecca and Elizabeth over tonight for their appreciation dinner. As Ben says, appreciation dinners are the new fireside chats. I can't say I've had a fireside chat but I have had appreciation dinners. Tonight I am preparing salmon filets over rice pilaf with asparagus and a fresh garden salad. It's making me hungry just thinking about it. I think that is about it for now. I have to go to my exam in a few minutes. I'll write more later when I have more to say. BTW today is Mike Schuttke's 23rd birthday so if you get a chance drop him a birthday greeting on his xanga site (schuttke). Happy Birthday Mike!

Praise the Lord for another awesome night. Tonight I went to Epikos a new church plant on the east side of Milwaukee. I was extremely blessed by the songs of worship, fellowship of believers and the message spoken from God's word. I believe that God is preparing to do some awesome things in the near future on the east side of Milwaukee and I'm excited to see people changed and names added to the Lamb's Book of Life.
...

After the worship service I drove out to West Allis with my good friend and housemate Mike to hang out and have dinner with another good friend of ours Dave Bonner. Dave cooked us an amazing dinner of beef tip roast, scallop potatoes and cream corn. Honestly it was probably the best home cooked meal I've had since Easter kudos to Dave for being a real Betty Crocker. After dinner we watched a movie and just hung out. Overall it was just a nice relaxing evening with a couple of guys that have really played a key role in my life here in Milwaukee. Anyway I really should go to bed, Elizabeth and Rebecca will be here early to pick me up for church. Have a great Sunday!

Psalm 148

        Praise the LORD from the heavens;
        Praise Him in the heights!
        Praise Him, all His angels;
        Praise Him, all His hosts!
        Praise Him, sun and moon;
        Praise Him, all you stars of light!
        Praise Him, you heavens of heavens,
        And you waters above the heavens!

        Let them praise the name of the LORD,
        For He commanded and they were created.
        He also established them forever and ever;
        He made a decree which shall not pass away.

        Praise the LORD from the earth,
        You great sea creatures and all the depths;
        Fire and hail, snow and clouds;
        Stormy wind, fulfilling His word;
        Mountains and all hills;
        Fruitful trees and all cedars;
        Beasts and all cattle;
        Creeping things and flying fowl;
        Kings of the earth and all peoples;
        Princes and all judges of the earth;
        Both young men and maidens;
        Old men and children.

        Let them praise the name of the LORD,
        For His name alone is exalted;
        His glory is above the earth and heaven.
        And He has exalted the horn of His people,
        The praise of all His saints--
        Of the children of Israel,
        A people near to Him.

        Praise the LORD!
...

Tonight I hung out with and went to gallery night with Rebecca, Elizabeth, Bryan, and Shalyn. We had an awesome time walking around and looking at a number of galleries on the east side and downtown Milwaukee, going to one of my favorite restaurants Twisted Fork, and sipping wine and watching My Big Fat Greek Wedding at Rebecca, and Elizabeth's house. I am so thankful that I have friends who I can just have fun around, be myself with and overall just enjoy life. Thank you for being my friends and and bring joy to my life. I love you guys!
...

I have another whole day off tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get a chance to finish cleaning my room including going through my closet and donating half my clothes to Goodwill (anyone up for a Goodwill run?). Other than that I may spend some time in the evening with a couple of my guys from the old school, and get some homework done (I've become quite the king of procrastination). As for now I am going to head to bed. I'll try not to let it be so long till my next update. Goodnight moon.

Written 09.26.04

Right now I am on my way back from my weekend in Minneapolis. I am tired but I had an awesome time. My friend Michael, brother, Ben and myself, had good times. I look forward to any time I get to spend with my brother. I am proud of Ben, his wisdom and his walk with the Lord. I love you Ben.

As if seeing my brother and hanging out with my buddy weren’t enough I got to go to one of my favorite stores IKEA. I spent about $100 on stuff for my room and the rest of the house including a new bed stand to complement my new bed I got about a month ago. I also got some stemware for when I want to entertain some special guests. I got some frames for the hallway, I’m thinking about hanging some pictures of my roommates in them, or maybe some scripture verses. I got some other odds and ends too, nothing to really brag about, but the excursion was fun nonetheless.

I also got the chance to attend Bethlehem Baptist Church today in Minneapolis. This is the church that Ben regularly attends, which also just happens to be the church that John Pieper pastors. I think it was one of the best church services I have been to in over a year. I liked everything about it! If I lived in Minneapolis I would definitely return. In my last post I mentioned the changes taking place in my life, and a church to belong to and get involved with has been high on my prayer list. I really miss not having a church fellowship that I feel connected to, but I trust that the Lord is good and He is preparing me for something great that will bring glory to Himself.

I think that is all I have for now, if you want the rest of the details about the shenanigans that went on in the city you’ll have to ask me personally. Right now I just can’t wait to get home and crawl into my nice warm, very comfortable bed. Goodnight!
